No one is saying just what prompted the unexpected dismissal, but Peacock is happy she is alive. Her infraction is known to only one other person, and as the head of the Agency he has been less generous with prior dismissals.
Immediately, she leaves the US and lands promptly in Paris. There, with the possible help of an old friend a new life might have a slim chance of growing.
Stepping outside the small cafe, she adjusts her hair in the light breeze and wonders just how she might find a way out of her darkness. At least she is in the City of Light, a good beginning.
